Terms of Service

1. Using IRC.XYZ

You must be at least 13 years old, or the higher minimum age required where you live. If you are below the age at which you can enter a binding agreement, you must have a parent or legal guardian’s permission and supervision. If you use IRC.XYZ for an organization, you must be authorized to accept these terms on its behalf.

IRC.XYZ is a client and bouncer for connecting to IRC networks. You may connect to a bouncer we host or one operated by you or someone else. Features and availability differ by platform and configuration. IRC networks, channels, app stores, and other third-party services have their own rules and terms.

Keep account information accurate and protect your sign-in credentials, devices, and pairing links. Only connect devices and bouncers you trust. Tell us at support@irc.xyz if you suspect unauthorized use of an account we operate.

2. Acceptable use

You are responsible for your conduct and the content you send. Do not use IRC.XYZ to:

• Break the law or infringe privacy, copyright, or other rights.
• Threaten, harass, exploit, or abuse people, promote violence, or distribute child sexual abuse material or other illegal content.
• Send spam, phishing messages, malware, or deceptive impersonations.
• Access accounts or systems without permission, distribute stolen credentials, or bypass access controls or service limits.
• Disrupt networks, overload infrastructure, or interfere with other people’s use of the service.

Follow the rules of the IRC networks and channels you join. Report abuse involving IRC.XYZ services to support@irc.xyz, including enough context to investigate without sharing passwords or pairing secrets. For moderation of a third-party channel or network, also contact its operators. We may investigate reports and restrict access to services we control; we cannot remove every copy held by other people or independent networks.

3. Your content and privacy

You keep your rights to your messages and files. You give us permission to transmit, store, copy, display, and otherwise process them only as needed to provide and protect the services you use and comply with law. You must have the rights needed to share content.

Messages may be visible to IRC network operators, channel members, recipients, bots, and the operator of your bouncer. Other people may save or share them. A private message is not a guarantee of confidentiality, and IRC.XYZ does not provide end-to-end encryption of IRC conversations. Files shared through an upload link are subject to that provider’s access and retention rules.

Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled, including hosted and self-hosted bouncers, optional features, retention, and deletion requests. Keep your own copies of information you need.

4. Paid services

Some services require a paid subscription. Prices, billing frequency, and applicable purchase terms are shown before checkout. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled under the terms shown at purchase. Signing in or pairing a device does not itself create a paid subscription.

For subscriptions billed through our website, use the billing controls on your account page to manage payment details and cancellation. The billing portal shows when cancellation takes effect. Removing the app, signing out, or disconnecting a device does not cancel billing. Contact support@irc.xyz about billing errors or refund requests; your mandatory consumer and refund rights remain in effect.

Access to paid features may end when your paid entitlement expires or payment is not completed. Subscription cancellation does not automatically delete your account or hosted history. Request deletion separately as described in the Privacy Policy.

5. Software and third-party services

You may use the IRC.XYZ software as permitted by its applicable license. Open-source components remain subject to their own licenses; these terms do not take away rights those licenses grant. For apps distributed through an app store, the store’s applicable software license and purchase terms also apply. These service terms do not replace Apple’s standard app license where it applies.

We do not control independent IRC networks, users, upload services, or linked websites and are not responsible for their content or availability. Use them according to their terms. We may provide updates to fix problems, improve security, or change features; continued compatibility with every network, device, or older release is not guaranteed.

6. Ending use or suspending access

You can stop using IRC.XYZ at any time. Cancel any paid subscription separately and follow the account-deletion instructions if you want your account and associated hosted data deleted. Export any history you need before requesting deletion.

We may suspend or end access to services we operate for serious or repeated violations, nonpayment, security risks, legal requirements, or discontinuation of a service. Where reasonably possible, we will give notice and an opportunity to address the issue; urgent security, abuse, or legal situations may require immediate action. We may preserve records needed for legal, billing, or security purposes as described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Availability and responsibility

To the extent permitted by law, IRC.XYZ is provided “as is” and “as available,” without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We cannot promise uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or delivery or preservation of every message. IRC.XYZ is not an emergency communication service.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, or removes mandatory consumer rights.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. We will revise the date above and provide additional notice of material changes when required by law. If you do not agree to revised terms, stop using the affected service and cancel any subscription before it renews. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
